서울국제어린이청소년영화협회는 영화와 영상을 사랑하는 다양한 세대가 만나 배우고, 창작하며, 서로의 이야기에 공감하는 열린 문화예술의 장을 만들어 가고자 합니다. 어린이와 청소년부터 대학생, 청년, 중장년, 시니어에 이르기까지, 세대와 국경을 넘어 누구나 자신의 시선으로 세상을 기록하고 표현할 수 있도록 함께하겠습니다.
특히 우리의 영화제가 작품을 심사하고 시상하는 경쟁의 장을 넘어, 처음 영화를 만든 사람도 당당하게 자신의 작품을 선보일 수 있는 첫 번째 무대가 되기를 바랍니다.
한 사람의 시선이 영화가 되고, 한 사람의 이야기가 누군가의 마음을 움직입니다. 서로 다른 세대의 이야기가 하나의 화면 안에서 만날 때, 새로운 공감과 소통이 시작된다고 믿습니다.

영화에는 나이가 없습니다. 창작에도 늦은 때는 없습니다.

서울국제어린이청소년영화협회는 앞으로도 영화와 영상을 통해 세대와 세상을 연결하고, 누구나 자신의 이야기를 자유롭게 표현할 수 있는 국제적인 창작·교류의 장을 만들어 가겠습니다. 여러분의 이야기를 기다립니다.

I am Geum-sun Sim, Chairperson of the Seoul International Children and Youth Film Association.

Film and video are forms of expression open to everyone. Each of us can see the world through our own eyes and turn what we feel into a story.

For children, filmmaking can be a first language for expressing their dreams. For teenagers, it offers a way to share their thoughts and emotions. For university students and young adults, it opens a stage for creative exploration. For older adults and seniors, it provides an opportunity to preserve and share a lifetime of experiences.

Our association was founded on the belief that every sincere story has value. A film does not need to be technically perfect to be meaningful. Picking up a camera can mark the beginning of a new dream—or the moment someone finds the courage to share a story they have carried for years.

We aim to create an open cultural community where people of all generations can meet, learn, create, and connect through film. Across ages and borders, we will support everyone who wishes to capture the world from their own perspective.

Above all, we hope our film festival will be more than a competition. We want it to be a welcoming first stage where new filmmakers can proudly share their work.

One person’s perspective can become a film. One person’s story can touch another’s heart. When stories from different generations meet on screen, they open new paths to understanding and connection.

Film belongs to every generation. It is never too late to create.

The Seoul International Children and Youth Film Association will continue to bring generations and communities together through film, building an international space for creative expression and cultural exchange.
