2024 서울국제어린이청소년영화페스티벌(Seoul International Kids & Youth Film Festival, SIKYFF)은 사단법인 서울국제어린이청소년영화협회(이사장 심금순)의 주최/주관, AIA생명의 후원, ㈜옥순의 협력으로 10월 26일(토) 개막을 알렸다.

올해 개막식과 시상식은 서울 올림픽공원 내 한성백제박물관에서 진행되었으며, 전국에서 모인 어린이 청소년 영화인 500여 명이 시상식에 참여하였고 개막식, 수상작 관람과 어린이 청소년 건강을 테마로 한 AIA생명 5개의 부스와 ‘Maker Faire Seoul 2024’를 운영한 ㈜메이커스핸즈의 다양한 메이커 문화 체험 부스 외 가락종합사회복지관, 키즐링과의 협업으로 안전교육, 지속가능발전이 포함된 7개 부스 등에 시민, 학생 2,000여 명이 참여했다. (주)리브위드, 대진대학교, 가락종합사회복지관 소속 자원봉사자 50여 명이 행사장 실내외 안전관리와 행사 운영에 협력했다.

김병일 사단법인 도산서원선비문화수련원 이사장, 김원태 서울시의원, 황지예 AIA생명 마케팅 본부장, 전찬일 경기영상위원회 위원장, 리카르도 겔리 피렌체한국영화제 집행위원장, 이정국 영화감독 외 많은 영화계 인사들과 교육계, 문화 예술계, 시민사회단체 인사들이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다. 김동호 전 부산국제영화제 이사장은 어린이 청소년 영화인을 응원하는 축사를 전했다.

2023 한국아나운서대상 앵커상 수상자 최지해의 사회로 시작된 개막식은 모든 진행이 한글과 영어로 500인치 대형 스크린에 표기되어 국제 행사의 면모를 보였다.

송파구민 45명으로 구성된 송파시민오케스트라가 ‘하울의 움직이는 성’을 연주하며 개막을 알렸고 100개국 1,500여 편의 출품작을 엄정히 심사한 수상작을 개막작으로 선정하였다. 전쟁의 비극을 담은 우크라이나 애니메이션 작품 ‘하트허그(Heart Hug)’, 한국경쟁대상 햇빛상 ‘복수는 우아하게 part. 2’가 상영되고 이어서 이지혜 영화평론가와 어린이 수상자가 함께한 감독과의 대화(GV)가 이어졌다.

시상식은 해외 및 국내 경쟁부문과 특별부문 등 총 8개 부문으로, 영화인, 교육인, 문화 예술인들이 수상작을 호명하고 어린이 청소년 감독과 스태프들이 무대에 올라와 수상소감을 밝히며 기뻐했다.

김선아 집행위원장은 “1년의 준비를 거치며 영화제의 더 높은 완성도를 위해 내년을 목표로 개최할까 고민했지만, 어린이 청소년들이 만든 과감하고 용기 있는 영화들을 보며 지금 조금 부족하다고 미루는 것은 옳지 않다, 과감하게 도전해서 용기 있게 시작하는 것이 옳다고 생각하여 축제를 개최한다. ”라고 전했다.

조성륜 운영위원장은 “심사는 삶의 희망찬 메시지와 적극적이고 충실한 삶을 공동체의 힘으로 이겨 나아가는 에너지가 엿보이는 작품을 위주로 선정했다. ”고 심사 기준을 전했다.

이사장 심금순은 “미디어를 통해 많은 영향을 받는 어린이 청소년들을 위한 영화축제는 반드시 존재해야 하며 오늘의 이 경험들이 그들이 가지고 있는 다양한 재능과 창의력, 상상력이 미래를 이끌 어린이 청소년들에게는 꿈과 희망이 되어 현실이 되는 빛나는 추억의 장을 만들어주게 될 것이다. ”라고 밝혔다.

The 2024 Seoul International Kids & Youth Film Festival announced its opening on Saturday, October 26th, hosted/organized by the Seoul International Kids & Youth Film Association (Chairman Sim Keum-Soon), sponsored by AIA, and in cooperation with Oksun Co., Ltd.

This year's opening ceremony and awards ceremony were held at the Seoul Baekje Museum in Seoul Olympic Park, and about 500 Kids & Youth filmmakers from all over the country participated in the awards ceremony. About 2,000 citizens and students participated in Opening ceremony, viewing of award-winning works, five booths of AIA themed on Kids & Youth health, various maker culture experience booths of Maker's Hands Co., Ltd., which operated 'Maker Faire Seoul 2024', safety education and sustainable development booths in collaboration with Garak Community Welfare Center and Kidsling.

Kim Byeong-il, chairman of the Dosan Seowon Seonbi Cultural Training Center, Seoul City Council member Kim Won-tae, AIA Chief Marketing Officer Hwang Ji-ye, Gyeonggi Film Commission Chairman Jeon Chan-il, Florence Korean Film Festival Director Riccardo Gelli, film director Lee Jeong-guk and many other figures from the film industry, education, culture and arts, and society attended and graced the occasion. Kim Dong-ho, former chairman of the Busan International Film Festival, delivered a congratulatory speech in support of Kids & Youth filmmakers.

The opening ceremony, which was emceed by Choi Ji-hae, winner of the 2023 Korea Announcer Awards Anchor Award, had the appearance of an international event with all proceedings displayed in Korean and English on a 500-inch screen.

The Songpa Citizen Orchestra, composed of 45 Songpa residents, announced the opening by playing ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ and selected the winning work as the opening work after rigorous screening of over 1,500 works from 100 countries. ‘Heart Hug’, a Ukrainian animation work depicting the tragedy of war, won the Korea Competition Sun Light Award ‘Revenge gracefully part. 2’ was screened, followed by a conversation with the director(GV) with film critic Lee Ji-hye and the kids award winners.

The awards ceremony consisted of a total of eight categories, including International and Korean competition sections and special sections. Filmmakers, educators, and cultural artists announced the winning films, and Kids & Youth directors and staff members came up on stage and expressed their acceptance speeches in joy.

Festival director Kim Suna said, “After a year of preparation, we thought about holding the festival next year to improve the quality of the film festival, but after seeing the bold and courageous films made by Kids & Youth, it is not right to postpone it because it is a little lacking now.
